Tips and Faqs

Printing techniques

What printing techniques do you offer?
Currently, we offer 90% of the techniques on the market: screen printing, sublimation, digital vinyl, cut vinyl and embroidery. For this reason, we can ensure that we are capable of marking any product.

All this is possible as long as a minimum production is necessary. Otherwise, the price of each unit may be higher.

What is digital vinyl? In which cases is it recommended?
Digital vinyl is like a printed “chrome” that can be ironed onto a t-shirt or other textile supports. It adheres using heat, which is applied using a special iron.

We recommend digital vinyl for small productions of t-shirts, jackets or other textile products of up to 50 units on which you want to print photographs or images with color gradients.

What is cut vinyl? In which cases is it recommended?
Cut vinyl is an adhesive extracted from a coil of a single color and the drawing is achieved by cutting and combining the vinyl coils of the desired color. This means that each color is a different vinyl and does not allow four-color processes or gradients.

We recommend cutting vinyl for small productions of t-shirts, jackets or other textile products of up to 50 units, in 1 or 2 colours. It is also suitable for large-format lettering (windows, posters, automobiles, decoration, among others).

What is pad printing? In which cases is it recommended?
Pad printing consists of engraving an iron plate with the desired drawing. This plate is dipped in ink so that the rubber pad is impregnated with the drawing of the iron plate and is applied to the selected product.

Pad printing is recommended in cases of products that have a reduced marking surface, such as pens or key rings, among others.

What is screen printing? In which cases is it recommended?
Screen printing consists of transferring ink through a stretched gauze on a frame or stretcher. This assembly is called a “silk screen”. Therefore, the gauze must be sealed in the parts where it is not desired to allow the passage of the ink. It is achieved by means of an emulsion, varnish, adhesive tape or photosensitive emulsion. The gauze shows a negative aspect of what will later be the final print. The serigraphic screen is placed on top of the support to be printed and the ink is passed through the gauze, applying moderate pressure with a doctor blade.

We recommend screen printing especially for t-shirts and textile products from approximately 50/60 units (depending on the size of the marking), as long as the printing is done in one colour. Otherwise, another more appropriate technique will be valued.

What is sublimation? In which cases is it recommended?
Sublimation is a new marking technique that works by transferring color to a polyester fabric through the application of heat.

The design is printed on special sublimation paper and placed on the fabric to be marked. Then, thanks to the heat applied by means of a special plate, the inks on the paper go from the solid state to the gaseous state, to later return to the solid state and, thus, remain printed on the fabric.

The result is a quality finish in full color and resistant to countless washes. This technology is not applicable to cotton, fiber or similar fabrics. It should only be applied on polyester.

We recommend it for four-color printing and small print runs on a white item. Also to carry out large 100% customizable productions. In this case, the textile article is made according to the customer’s needs.

What is digital vinyl? And the cut? What differences do we find between the two?
Digital vinyl is a white adhesive support, where any element can be printed by inkjet. Cut vinyl is also an adhesive support, but in this case it works with coils of different colors, so that the drawings are achieved by cutting these coils and combining the colors according to the desired design.

Digital vinyl allows four-color printing (photographs, for example); and make gradients; Otherwise, the cut vinyl only allows you to print solid masses of colour.

We recommend both techniques to print up to 50 approximate units (small productions) of t-shirts, jackets or other textile products. The cut vinyl is ideal for stamping designs of 1 or 2 colors.

Digital vinyl, however, is the best option if you want to print images or drawings with color gradients.

Finally, cut vinyl is also a good option for large-format signage (windows, posters, automobiles, decoration, among others).

What is the difference between screen printing and vinyl?
Screen printing consists of applying the ink directly on the piece to be stamped through an emulsion and engraving process.

On the contrary, vinyl is a plastic adhesive that is attached to the piece to be stamped using an iron that emits heat.

Screen printing is recommended above all for printing t-shirts and textile products from 50/60 units (depending on the size of the marking).

Instead, vinyl is recommended for productions of less than 50 units.

What is the difference between pad printing and screen printing?
Both pad printing and screen printing use inks.

However, in screen printing, screens with a weft of threads are used. The part that is not drawing is darkened and the ink passes through only through the undarkened threads.

In contrast, pad printing consists of engraving an iron plate with the desired drawing. Ink is then placed on the iron plate. Finally, as the name of the technique indicates, a rubber pad is impregnated with the drawing of the iron plate and applied to the selected product.

Pad printing is normally used to personalize small parts; for example, key rings and pens.

On the contrary, screen printing is considered indicated for larger pieces.

Is it very expensive to mark a product with embroidery?
The cost of embroidery is higher than that of other marking technologies; however, it is the technique that offers more durability and, depending on the promotional objective, a better finish.

The price can only be determined from the size and colors of the embroidery, since it depends on the number of thread stitches needed to make the marking.

How much do screens or molds cost in screen printing?
The cost of screen printing screens or molds is €35 for standard formats (50×60 cm). For larger sizes, contact us and we will offer you a personalized price.
Can the entire t-shirt be printed?
Yes, as long as its fabric is technical. The minimum production required is 500 units. It is also necessary to have a certain margin of time for the manufacture of the t-shirts. If the clothing is made in Spain, it can be ready after 30 or 40 working days; If you prefer to produce in Asian countries, it will take 90 days.

Stamping

Do you print paper? Boxes? banners? Totems? Exhibitors? Plastic? Flags?
Yes, we print on paper, plastic, cardboard, or whatever support is most convenient. We can produce any type of advertising support, and we even take care of its design.

All this is possible as long as a minimum production is necessary. Otherwise, the price of each unit may be higher.

Design

If I don't have the design yet; Can you do it to me?
Of course! We have a graphic designer on our team, so we can design anything you need. From a logo to the complete vinyl of a car (among hundreds of other examples).

Get in touch with us and we will make you a tailor-made budget.

How many days does it take to create a custom design?
The design is tailored to the client’s needs, so it is difficult to establish exact deadlines; it all depends on the complexity of the design and the urgency of production.

The first proposal for a logo design, for example, once the budget is approved, can be sent after about a week. From this point, the necessary modifications will be applied.

In the case in which the design is already applied to the promotional product, we can deliver the “mock up” within approximately 2 days.

It is important to emphasize that these are approximate terms, since each client and design is different and unique.

With how many colors can I personalize a product?
Digital printing technologies allow you to print with as many colors as you like, just like a photograph. However, cutting vinyl and pad printing allow stamping or printing between 1 and 8/12 colors.

What is a vectorized logo?
A vector drawing, unlike raster images (which are made up of a certain pixel grid), is created from geometric coordinates on a plane.

This allows it to be scaled as much as necessary, while at the same time allowing you to work with sophisticated cutting technologies. These are machines that, through the use of specific software, have the ability to follow the path of a vector.

In this way you can get flat pieces, for example letters made with cut vinyl; or with volume, for example a logo made with wood or metal.
